Museum of Oberaudorf - Come and have a look!
Visiting the museum of Audorf in the castle gate, you will learn interesting, historic facts about the Auerburg, geology, the settlement of the river Inn valley, the shipping on the river Inn and the Gebirgsschützen. You will also learn something about tourism in Oberaudorf, one of the oldest tourism centers of Germany. The museum is open from May to October on Tuesdays and Sundays from 2 pm - 6 pm. For this is a really neat and tiny museum, please note that the explanations in the museum are only in German.
Blaahaus - a different Museum
A journey into the past. The Blaahaus was built in 1696 as a house for workers at the melting furnace (Blaaofen) and serves as a museum now. Opening times: Tuesday from 9.00 - 11.30 (entrance until 10.30) May - October: Thursday and Saturday from 14.00 - 17.00 (enzrance until 16.00). Guided tours for groups possible. Please note that the explanations in the museum are only in German.
Benedict - Column
Georg Ratzinger, the brother of the pope inaugurated a Benedict-column in Oberaudorf. The column also shows the Mother of Pope Benedict XVI. with her 3 children. She was baptised in Oberaudorf‘s church. The work of art of the sculptor Joseph Neustifter not only honours the Bavarian pope, but also reminds us of St. Benedict of Nursia, Europe‘s patron.
Concerts of the local brass bands
During the summer months the local brass bands of Oberaudorf, Niederaudorf, Kiefersfelden andMühlbach give weekly concerts.
